Financing Your Degree

A graduate education is one of the most important investments you will make in your lifetime.

The Collins College of Business provides scholarship awards and graduate assistantships to approximately half of our students, with awards up to 100% of tuition plus a monthly stipend. For students who need additional funding, a variety of loan opportunities are available and students are welcome to seek private scholarship opportunities.

We are aware that financing your graduate education can be a challenge; however, if you’re willing to make the effort, we’ll strive to ease the strain on your pocketbook. Please contact Graduate Business Programs if you have any questions. We are here to help you along the way!

College Scholarships and Assistantships

The Collins College of Business is pleased to offer renewable tuition scholarships and assistantships, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The Graduate Business Programs Scholarship and Assistantship application may be obtained through the Graduate Business Programs office. An applicant must be fully admitted to a program to be considered for scholarships and assistantships through the Collins College of Business.

Scholarship and assistantship recipients are selected on a competitive basis, and awards are first come first serve. All awards are subject to available funding, and an interview may be required of applicants.

For priority scholarship consideration, fall applicants should fully apply to their program of choice by February 1.  Spring applicants by October 1.

For more information or to obtain a scholarship application, please email the Graduate Business Programs office.

Graduate Assistantships

The University of Tulsa awards Graduate Assistantships (GA) across campus. Awards cover full tuition plus a monthly stipend. Graduate Assistants are required to work 20 hours per week in their assigned position, which may be with faculty in an academic department or staff in an administrative office. To be eligible, candidates must have strong academic and professional backgrounds. Students may apply for Graduate Assistantships by completing the general scholarship application.

Additional Resources

Although funding opportunities are abundant, the path to financing a graduate degree is not easy. There are a number of financial resources available to students of every nationality, in a variety of forms. We strongly recommend you research several avenues for funding your degree. The following information will get you started!

Budget

Understanding the various costs associated with your graduate degree is an important component of making your financial plan. A summary of anticipated tuition and living expenses for the academic year can be found by visiting the Graduate School online.

Students can work with the business office to establish finance-free tuition payment plans. The business office must be contacted at the beginning of each term in order to set up a plan. Visit the Office of Student Financial Services for more information.

Loans

Federal and private education loans are available for graduate students. TU’s Office of Student Financial Services has a full-time graduate student adviser available to answer questions and make sure you understand your opportunities. Contact Kristi Emerson at kristi-emerson@utulsa.edu or visit the Office of Student Financial Services for more information.

Company Tuition Reimbursement

If you plan to work while earning your graduate degree, consult with your employer about paying for your degree. Many employers offer tuition reimbursement programs. If your employer does not, consult with your management to discuss options. Many students have received funding from their employers even though it is not included in their regular benefits package. Tuition deferment plans are available for students with this benefit.
