The primary mission of the University of Tulsa’s School of Accounting and BIS is to provide educational programs that prepare students for the role of business information professionals with expertise in analysis and reporting, translating complex information into critical knowledge and decision-making.

The accounting faculty has created an educational climate that motivates our students to acquire learning abilities that will serve them throughout their professional lives. To achieve this type of learning environment, active student participation and student learning by discovery are important pedagogical aspects used throughout our curriculum.

Business Information Systems

At TU, our BIS program is committed to educating students as leaders in a world that requires information and knowledge. We emphasize relevant and integrated technology, systems, people and business knowledge and skills that will enable our graduates to solve problems and create solutions in a rapidly changing world. We strive to provide our graduates with lifelong learning skills, critical thinking abilities, communication skills, information technology skills, and the ability to provide professional team leadership.
