School of Accounting and Computer Information Systems

The primary mission of the University of Tulsa’s School of Accounting and CIS is to provide educational programs that prepare students for the role of business information professionals with expertise in analysis and reporting, translating complex information into critical knowledge and decision-making.

Accounting

The accounting profession continues to change as accounting professionals embrace a new vision. (Learn more about the CPA Vision.) Beyond a broad liberal arts education, we emphasize relevant and integrated business, technology and financial knowledge and skills. The accounting faculty has created an educational climate that motivates our students to acquire learning abilities that will serve them throughout their professional lives. To achieve this type of learning environment, active student participation and student learning by discovery are important pedagogical aspects used throughout our curriculum.

Computer Information Systems

At TU, our CIS program is committed to educating students as leaders in a world that requires information and knowledge. In addition to a strong liberal arts education foundation, we emphasize relevant and integrated technology, systems, people and business knowledge and skills that will enable our graduates to solve problems and create solutions in a rapidly changing world. We strive to provide our graduates with lifelong learning skills, critical thinking abilities, communication skills, information technology skills, and the ability to provide professional team leadership.
