Finance & Operations Management

A finance degree from The University of Tulsa is designed to educate students in all areas of business — accounting, economics, international business, management, marketing, and computer information systems — because the finance profession involves interaction with all of these areas. Courses are offered in the areas of corporate finance, investments, portfolio management, financial institutions, and personal finance. A Student Investment Fund of more than $7,000,000 provides students with the opportunity to manage a portfolio of real money.

Student Investment Fund pays it forward

One of the unique opportunities offered by The University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business is the chance to partake in the Student Investment Fund, where business students get hands-on experience managing an investment portfolio built by past TU students over 25 years. Through buying and selling securities and learning about asset allocations, students apply financial theories and models and manage a real portfolio of financial assets. The fund is now valued at more than $6.4 million, one of the largest in the country.
