Real Estate Program

The minor in real estate will provide students a strong foundation in key areas of the real estate industry, including finance, management, law, and policy and will prepare a student to pursue a career in the real estate, seek higher education in real estate related fields, or make personal investments in real estate. The minor includes substantial experiential learning elements that will support student engagement with local developments and experienced professionals as they explore career options in this field. This minor is interdisciplinary in nature and is accessible to students in a wide variety of major fields of study.

Enrollment in the minor is open to students of any major, but students outside of CCB may have to take additional prerequisite courses to complete this minor. Students within the CCB will satisfy prerequisites for all required courses and some electives by completing Business Core courses.

*Students with prior knowledge or experience in real estate may test out of Real Estate Principles. Such students would then choose 6 credit hours from the elective courses to complete the minor.

**Offerings will vary from year to year. Only special topics courses in real estate topic areas will count towards the minor. This information would be conveyed to students in the posted class description before registration.

***Internship or independent study must be in real estate and approved by advisor.
