TU’s Collins College of Business introduces Master of Science in Global Energy

The Collins College of Business is inaugurating a new Master of Science in Global Energy in the fall of 2017. The MS in Global Energy is specifically focused on the international energy community and seeks to attract students who have the potential to excel on the world stage. The program’s goal is to educate students from diverse cultures who are passionate about energy and its impact on global business, society and the environment. The MS in Global Energy will provide participants with strong business foundations along with knowledge about the broader international energy community, thereby enriching each graduate’s career prospects.

The curriculum for the Master of Science in Global Energy is designed primarily for international students and recent graduates in business, engineering and geoscience disciplines who wish to pursue careers in the energy industry — especially on an international scale. The program, which incorporates both online and traditional classes, allows students to broaden their skill set to become more marketable in the energy industry from a business perspective.

The Master of Science in Global Energy is a 39-credit-hour, non-thesis program comprised of 11 required courses and two electives. Coursework focuses on business applications and skills specific to global energy enterprises. Students learn how to manage multinational corporations, gain skills in deal making and international transactions, master the intricacies of energy accounting and financial reporting and investigate the complexities of energy markets and economics.

This interdisciplinary, full-time program can be completed in 16 months and includes a summer global experience during which students can study abroad, complete an internship with a government agency or national oil company doing business in the U.S., or develop an internationally focused research project or report.
